Tottenham have entered the race to sign Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson. The transfer rumour comes just days after Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi claimed that they were set to make a ‘bomba’ signing.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Tottenham have joined Aston Villa in the race for Jackson. The two Premier League sides are keen to bolster their attack and see the Senegal star as the ideal fit.

Chelsea are open to a sale, and have slapped a £65 million price tag on him. The striker is currently with the Xabi Alonso squad but has yet to feature under the new manager.
The Tottenham links come just days after De Zerbi claimed that Tottenham were 60% of the way to completing their deal to make a ‘bomba’ signing. He said:
“The transfer market, it’s not finished for sure. We have completed 60% of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another bomba. I hope, but it’s not finished, for sure. In the transfer market, when I want one player, I become like a shark. No chance to say no. I love working in the transfer market. It’s not pressure, it’s one of the nicest parts of my work, my job.”
Chelsea have given Alonso the freedom to decide his squad, and the manager has heaped praise on Jackson. He claimed that the striker was one of the players he was happy to work with and said:
“Nico is a great player, a threat against any defence so we want players that can compete. Nico is one of them. We need to go day-by-day checking options, but we are happy Nico is with us. He is a goal threat, he attacks very well this inner channel, close to the striker, coming from outside. He is really strong, really quick, you will be really impressed with him.”
Chelsea loaned out Jackson to Bayern Munich last summer, after he fell out with former head coach Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea trimming squad after signing players this summer
Chelsea have spent big once again this summer and have sealed six transfers so fr. They have added Marco Palestra, Morgan Rogers, Max Lacroix, Valentin Barco, Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson so far this summer.
Dastan Satpayev, Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda have also been added to the squad after deals were agreed for the players in previous windows. The Blues are now working to sell players to trim the squad ahead of the new season.
