Danny Rohl is close to waving goodbye to Rangers, moving one step away from becoming RB Salzburg’s new manager.

The Austrian side sounded out Rohl as the ideal replacement for Daniel Beichler, following his sacking in May, and it appears he could return to the Red Bull group.

Rohl began his managerial career as an assistant manager of RB Leipzig and has since managed Sheffield Wednesday and now Rangers.

The German tactician has been with the Scottish giants since October 2025, and although he failed to win the Scottish Premiership, his talent is still attracting attention.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the 37-year-old is close to a full agreement with Salzburg and only the “final details” remain.

Plettenberg has also acknowledged that a deal isn’t done yet, as he comes to the end of his time at Rangers after eight months in charge.

Rohl has won 22 of his 40 matches in charge of the Gerswhile posting 11 defeats.
