England international Harry Kane is widely regarded as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, having won the European Golden Shoe for the past two seasons.
He is also the leading goalscorer for England with 75 goals, ranking 10th for most international goals.
Pundit Gary Neville predicts that the Bayern Munich striker will end his career as the most prolific goalscorer in the Premier League and England’s history.
“I would be amazed if he is not playing until 38 somewhere getting that record. He will become England’s and the Premier League’s greatest ever goalscorer.”
The 32-year-old has a year left on his contract at Bayern. It remains to be seen whether he would be open to returning to England to break Shearer’s record.
His age and salary could also make a move difficult, although he may not be short of suitors, given his track record.
The former Tottenham forward heads into the tournament in a rich vein of form, scoring 10 goals in his last 10 appearances.
He also has an impressive World Cup record, chipping in with eight goals in 11 games. He won the Golden Boot in the 2018 edition of the tournament.
However, Kane will need support from the rest of the squad if Thomas Tuchel’s side are to succeed at the tournament.
