Serie A side Como are reportedly interested in signing Liam Delap from Chelsea. The Englishman is not in Xabi Alonso’s plans for the season and is available for a move.
According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Como have made their first move to sign Delap. The Italian side are looking to bolster their attack, and see the former Ipswich Town star as the ideal addition.

The Serie A side have a good relation with Chelsea, after signing Trevoh Chalobah this summer. They paid £31 million for the defender earlier this month, and are now looking to loan in the striker.
Delap has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this season, as Alonso has added Danny Welbeck to his forward line. The manager has the new signing, Joao Pedro and Nicolas Jackson as his first three options, leaving the rest open to an exit.
Andy Townsend spoke about Delap earlier this month, urging the forward to leave and named Everton as the ideal side. He said on talkSPORT:
“I could see David Moyes potentially able to get a bit more out of Liam Delap. It’s just not really happened for him at Chelsea and as you say, with new faces coming in, I do think his game time’s going to be limited. He would definitely need to move. I think Everton, I get the Forest. I get that sort of club that that that that that he could potentially go there and do well.”
“Needs the right type of service, Liam. He’s a bustling, hard-working kind of big, upright center forward. Doesn’t look to have to have that natural flair and an ability that you can just knock it up to him and he would make something out of nothing. He needs some sort of standard service, but I think those clubs you mentioned.”
Chelsea are open to letting Delap leave, and have already slapped a £50 million asking price on the striker they signed for £30 million last summer.

Liam Delap scored just two competitive goals in his first season at Chelsea. The Englishman managed just one goal in the Premier League, and went on a 26-game goal drought for the Blues last season.
Reports suggest that Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Everton are interested in signing the striker. If Como look to loan in Delap, Chelsea might have to reconsider their options, as they have limited slots for international loans.
