Bayern Munich star Harry Kane is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe.
He is also England’s leading goalscorer with 79 goals and will be a key part of their bid to win the World Cup this summer.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes he will end his career as a multiple record-breaker.
“I would be amazed if he is not playing until 38 somewhere, getting that record. He will become England’s and the Premier League’s greatest ever goalscorer.”
Kane is second on the Premier League’s all-time top scorers chart with 213 goals, 47 behind Shearer.
The 32-year-old has a year left on his contract at Bayern. It is unclear whether he would be open to returning to England to break Shearer’s record.
His age and salary could also make a move difficult, although he may not be short of suitors, given his track record.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward heads into the tournament in a rich vein of form, scoring 10 goals in his last 10 appearances.
He also has an impressive World Cup record, chipping in with eight goals in 11 games. He won the Golden Boot in the 2018 edition of the tournament.
