Brighton’s eye for some of Europe’s best young talent has led them towards Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic.
According to David Ornstein, the Seagulls have submitted a £30 million bid for the 19-year-old following his exceptional campaign on loan at Hamburg in the Bundesliga.

Ornstein says that one of Europe’s “most coveted” players would favour Brighton as the best step for his development, instead of jostling for a place in Roberto DeZerbi‘s plans.
Vuskovic trusts that Fabian Hurzeler, arguably one of the most promising tacticians in world football, can transform him into an elite defender.
Currently at the World Cup with Croatia, Vuskovic is expected to replace star defender Jan Paul van Heckewho, ironically, is being chased by Spurs.
Van Hecke only has one year left on his contract, but Brighton are holding out for a mammoth £70m after rejecting bids of £40m and £50m.
A third bid for the Dutchman is in the offing, and it could eclipse £60m, as the Seagulls aim to get the better end of the bargain in their pursuit of Vuskovic.
